Bobcats are fairly common in the nearby provincial park, but not seen too often. One day I was amazed to find one sitting on the path in front of me. He was bird watching (!) and only looked at me twice.

A month or two later I was sitting at my desk and one ran by the window - I quickly followed and managed 1 shot as he slinked away.

4, 5, 6, 7 Coyotes are another very common animal in the park. This one ventured out on the ice in search of sleeping ducks. The are often seen in the distance and I don't worry about it unless there are 3 or 4 together. Close up shots were taken from a car.
8,9,10 Minks live along the river and the feeder creeks. The photos above and right are on the bow River in Calgary, the one below on the Saguenay River in Quebec.

39, 40, 41 Pica or Rock Rabbit, a small animal found in rock slides in the Rocky Mountains. They spend the summer collecting grasses and storing it in the rock crevices for the winter.

Animals 41
42, 43 What Canadian website would be complete without a photo of a Beaver. This one continued eating grasses right beside the path as I walked by.

Animals 43
43 - 49 This Weasel seemed surprised to see a heavy snow fall in April. He would disappear under the snow and then suddenly pop up far away from where he disappeared. I was never sure where he was going to come up and was lucky to get a few shots.
