I have been birding since I was a young adult. People often ask me how I got started, I think my Dad got me interested - he was not a "birder" but was an outdoors man and knew what the birds were. When he took us fishing on the Saguenay he would often point out the birds by name. About 5 years ago I started photographing birds. My challenge is to photograph the bird or animal in its own environment doing what it usually does. While sometimes it is effective to catch the bird looking at you, I prefer the photos where the bird is looking at or for prey or predator or just being natural going about its daily activities.

I currently live in Calgary, Alberta, and return to Tadoussac, Quebec every summer where I spent much time as a child.
